Our bus champions

Meet one of our GoSmart champions.

Myra Smith Myra Smith used to take a taxi to the supermarket or into town to get her shopping. She was challenged by one of our travel advisors last year to take a bus instead of a taxi for 1 week using a free mega rider. "I've never used a taxi since speaking to the GoSmart Team. I now just do wee bits of shopping when I'm in town. It's saving me money and making me think a bit more about what I am buying."

Colin Lindt
Colin spoke to one of the Travel Advisors at his door last summer and he has found a significant financial benefit of leaving the car at home. Colin says "I regularly purchase a weekly bus pass for £10.30 Dumfries Zone 1 and it saves me at least £20 a week, a lot cheaper than using a car!"

Allan Callow
GoSmart Travel Advisors spoke to Allan at the Food Train presentation in January. Allan set himself a challenge to try using the bus to travel into Dumfries. Alan says "I really enjoyed my trip to town by bus and I will definitely be doing it again. My wife often needs the car on Wednesdays and therefore I am now a regular bus user on those occasions! So finding out how useful the bus service is has all worked out really well for me! Thanks for that also!"
